The Leylandii is an elegant hedge which will make the perfect addition to your garden. Leylandii is well-known for its growth rate, but also for its evergreen, fragrant foliage that gives you rich colours of green all year round. As well as this, the plant is perfect for windbreak, noise reduction and privacy.

Root Ball Beech hedging is only available to buy and plant throughout November - March, but can be pre-ordered at any time outside of the bare root season.

It is important to consider that it can grow very tall, and very quickly, so it is important that you keep it a reasonable height so that maintenance of the hedge does not get too difficult- though it is also common for many people to have Leylandii hedges around 5-6ft tall, in which they easily maintain.

When you receive your̴Ì?Leylandii Root Ball plant, it will need to be planted within a couple of weeks or so and must be well-watered during this time. Do not allow the soil to dry out- this will more than likely damage the roots altogether.̴Ì?g root bound.̴Ì?

In terms of trimming the Leylandii, ensure you trim around Springtime (when the weather begins to warm up). It can also be done in Summertime; however, you must make sure there have been no dry spells or very hot weather. As well as this, it‰ۡó»s also important to notice that Leylandii does not grow from old wood, so therefore cannot be left to go way out of hand and then suddenly trimmed down to size.

  1. Prepare the soil by mixing in some compost. Dig the hole- this will have to be about twice the width of the root system, but the same depth.
  2. Remove the plant from its pot by placing one hand on the base of the plant, and the other at the bottom of the pot. Wriggle the pot away gently.
  3. Untangle the roots a little as they may be clumped together.
  4. Place the plant into the hole, ensuring the base of the stem is level with the surface of the soil. Follow this with backfilling the hole with your soil mix, and patting down to lightly secure.
  5. When you're done, thoroughly water the plant. Ensure you regularly water throughout its first year, as the plant needs plenty to be able to settle down, recover, and establish.
