Rhododendron 'Princess Anne'
(20/30cm Pot Grown)

Rhododendron 'Princess Anne' is a low-growing, compact dwarf species, with stunning, yellow-coloured, tubular shaped flowers with light green centres. Find out more

Rhododendron 'Princess Anne' blooms a little later than other Rhododendron species, with the beautiful flowers coming to life near the end of Spring- the perfect way to add an extra pop of colour to your Spring Garden!

Interestingly, young foliage on the 'Princess Anne' plant appears as slightly bronze coloured, but will soon turn to bright, evergreen leaves as they mature. It's the perfect plant for creating a stunning bed, border, or container- and for those with smaller gardens, too, with its ultimate height and spread of 60cm x 60cm.

It is best to plant Rhododendron 'Princess Anne' in full sun or light shade, and in well-draining soil. It does also prefer an ericaceous, or acidic soil, as this avoids yellowing of the leaves.

  • Growth rate: Average (20-40cm per year)
  • Ideal height: 0.6m Small
  • Soil type: Clay, loam, sand, acidic
  • Exposure: Sheltered
  • Aspect: Full sun, semi-shade
  • Evergreen foliage? Yes

You should not need to prune your Rhododendron 'Princess Anne' at all- you will only need to remove the spent flowers, and cut away any dead/diseased branches, where necessary. This must be done in late Spring when the flowering has finished.

Once you've finished pruning, we also recommend placing a bit of Rhododendron/Azalea fertiliser down to encourage the best and most healthy, new shoots.
