About̴Ì?'Cunningham's White'
Rhododendron 'Cunningham's White' is a tough, dense plant, perfect for difficult sites and screening effects. It's also one of the very few Rhododendron types that can tolerate natural or alkaline based soil.
Cunningham's White is the perfect species for evergreen hedging, due to its hardy, robust nature, but stunning characteristics. As well as this, it can reach 1.4m-1.6m high within 10 years.
Key Features
Rhododendron 'Cunningham's White' should be planted in full sun/dappled shade, and in well-draining soil.
- Growth rate: Average (20-40cm per year)
- Ideal height: 1.4m-1.6m Medium
- Soil type: Clay, dry, well-draining, ericaceous
- Exposure: Sheltered, coastal
- Aspect: Full sun, semi-shade
- Evergreen foliage? Yes
Pruning & Care
You should not need to prune your Rhododendron 'Cunningham's White,' meaning it's a very low-maintenance plant. You will only need to remove any spent flowers, as well as clipping off any dead/diseased branches. Do not plant too deep, either, as the roots are much shorter than most hedging plants.
Ensure you fertilise with rhododendron/azalea feed, only, too.
