Privet hedging is a very popular, semi-evergreen species. It is mainly evergreen but may lose some (or all) of its leaves when faced with severe winter conditions.
About Bare Root Green Privet Hedging
Bare Root Green Privet plants are only available to buy and plant during November - March, but can be pre-ordered at any time outside of the bare root season.
Generally known for their deep, rich green, oval leaves, Privet hedging also boasts masses of pretty, white flowers that bloom during Summer- meaning the plant is very popular amongst bees and butterflies!
The plant is also well-known for its dense foliage, which can offer privacy and protection against pollution- it's the ideal species for both urban and suburban gardens.
That all being said, as this variant of Beech hedging is a Bare Root, you will need to plant as soon as you can after being delivered.

Pruning & Care
As soon as you receive your Privet Bare Roots, you will need to place them into a bucket of fresh water for at least 2 hours. The roots must be wet before planting. Ensure you drench the planting hole before and after planting too- but do not let it become waterlogged (place in a well-draining soil).
In terms of pruning, hedge trimming can be done twice a year- firstly in June, then again in late September. Only prune at these times as you do not want to remove any new growing shoots.
