The lovely, variegated leaves on the̴Ì?Golden Privet are complemented with attractive, creamy-white flowers in the Summer, which are loved by insects. It is a little less hardy than Green Privet (Ligustrum ovalifolium), and will therefore do best when clipped to form a traditional, dense hedge.̴Ì?
Golden Privet is tolerant to pollution, making it a highly popular choice for suburban and urban gardens- though it will grow pretty much anywhere, if it is not seriously wet.̴Ì?
Please note that the leaves are harmful if eaten. The plant may also defoliate after planted (being bare root), but it will soon recover in Spring.̴Ì?
