When should I plant Euonymus Emerald Gaiety hedging?
The best time to plant Euonymus is between March and April, or September and October.
How far apart do you plant Euonymus Emerald Gaiety?
If you are looking to create a lovely dense hedge, you will need to place each plant around 30cm apart.
How to plant Euonymus Emerald Gaiety:
Begin by removing any weeds or rocks etc. from your planting area.
Then go on to digging a hole that is about twice as wide as the root ball, but the same depth. Break up the soil a bit using a spade, around the sides and bottom, to prevent any soil compaction. Put back around 2 inches of the soil.̴Ì?
Remove the plant from its pot and cut away any dead roots you can see, and then loosen the root ball up a bit - this will encourage them to spread out and establish further.
Place the plant into the hole and make sure the plant's stem base is 2" above ground level. Backfill the hole with the excess soil and press down to secure the plant.
Finish off by giving the plant a good watering around the base. Continue to water weekly during its first summer - it may need to be more often than this if the weather is quite hot. You must water enough, however, as this encourages the roots to grow and develop.
