When should I plant Daisy Bush hedging?
The best time to plant Olearia x Haastii is throughout autumn, when the weather is a little cooler.
How far apart do you plant Daisy Bush plants?
It is recommended that you space your plants around 40-60cm apart. You can go for around 3 plants per metre for a bushy hedge quite quickly, but if you're not too worried about how long it takes to form a good hedge, you can̴Ì?stick to around 2 per metre.
How to plant Olearia x Haastii:
Begin by digging a hole that is the same depth as the root ball of the plant, but around 2-3 times as wide.
Remove the root ball from the pot. Keeping the roots together, place the plant into the hole and make sure the base of the plant is just above ground level.̴Ì?
Re-fill the hole evenly, gently packing down as you go along, and remove any large stones. Continue to fill the hole up.̴Ì?
Water the whole area that was dug and backfilled, thoroughly and deeply. After this large watering sessions, keep the hedging moist (but not soaked) - give it one last big watering before temperatures reach freezing, or continue to water regularly throughout the summer (depending on when you plant).
