Field Maple not only boasts small, yellow-green flowers in the Spring/Summer, but it also produces fruits during Autumn, which complement its lovely, deep, golden-yellow coloured foliage. You'll always see bees buzzing around Field Maple, too, as the flowers produce a welcomed abundance of pollen!

You will need to plant your Field Maple Bare Root plant as soon as you can after it arrives. Do not let the roots dry out or the plant will not survive.̴Ì?

These 90/120cm bare root Field Maple plants are fast-growing and can exceed 5m tall when planted in good conditions.

Relatively easy to maintain, and with its resilient nature, Field Maple can reach an ultimate height of 20m high. That being said, we do, however, recommend sticking to around 5m high as any higher than this can result in the plant being a bit difficult to look after.
  • Growth rate: Fast (40-60cm per year)
  • Ideal height: 5m+ Tall
  • Soil type: Normal, chalk, clay
  • Exposure: Inland, coastal, exposed
  • Aspect: Full sun, semi-shade
  • Evergreen foliage? No

As soon as you get your Field Maple bare root plant, place it into a bucket of water for 2 hours, or more, to ensure the roots will be moist when planted. You will need to continually water the plant throughout its growth and establishment, too.̴Ì?

Stick to trimming your Field Maple at the beginning of every Winter. This will keep it under control as much as possible.
