Basket Willow is a deciduous plant with grey-brown coloured bark and smooth yellow-green twigs. The long, narrow leaves are about 20cm x 1cm, and have a covering of felt-like silver hairs underneath.

Basket Willow also produces green/yellow coloured fluffy catkins, which appear during Winter/Spring. Once these have then pollinated, the catkins turn into fruit capsules that split open and let go of lots of little seeds.

Make sure you plant your Willow bare root plant as soon as possible after being delivered, as the roots are tender and cannot be left to dry out.

These 60/90cm bare root Basket Willow plants are fast-growing, but will exceed 4m tall in good conditions.

Basket Willow grows well in most soils, like clay, loam, and sand, but will not tolerate those that are alkaline.̴Ì?
