The Prunus laurocerasus ‰ۡÌÝÌáEtna‰ۡó» boasts lovely creamy-white flowers in the Spring, followed with shiny, black berries in the Autumn. It can provide a great noise barrier, windbreak, and privacy screen, as the plant will grow to 2.5m if you leaf it to grow- though it can also be easily kept at 1-2.5m, making it ideal for smaller gardens too. Please note that, like most Laurel varieties, all parts of the Laurel ‰ۡÌÝÌáEtna‰ۡó» plant are harmful if eaten.
This̴Ì?40/60cm potted̴Ì?Laurel 'Etna'̴Ì?plant has an average growth rate and will reach about 2.5m tall when planted in good conditions.
The Laurel ‰ۡÌÝÌáEtna‰ۡó» is tolerant to all problem sites, such as shade, coastal situations, and even northern positions.
- Growth height: Average (20-40cm per year)
- Ideal height: 2.5m+ Tall
- Soil Type: Normal
- Exposure: Coastal, Exposed, Inland
- Aspect: Full shade, Sun
- Evergreen foliage? Yes
As it is pot grown, you can easily leave the plant in its pot for a few days/weeks before planting it. Just ensure you keep it well-watered and it gets enough sun. Don't leave the plant for too long, however, as you don't want the roots becoming root bound.
The Prunus laurocerasus ‰ۡÌÝÌáEtna,‰ۡó» can be trimmed back twice in a year to lengthen the time of the warm-orange foliage, which looks amazing against the older, dark-green leaves. Alternatively, you can also stick to trimming once a year, around mid-March, as it is still not quite as fast growing as the Common Laurel.Berries
