The Chaenomeles x superba ‰ۡÌÝÌáPink Lady‰ۡó» bush boasts gorgeous, cup-shaped, flowers in March through to May, which are then followed with green, fragrant fruits, that turn yellow when ripe. This is the perfect bush for training against a fence or wall, and it will flower earlier than many other varieties, meaning it is a highly valuable plant for providing early spring colour.

Within 5-10 years, the Japanese quince ‰ۡÌÝÌáPink Lady‰ۡó» can reach an ultimate height and spread of 1.5m x 2m.

This 20/40cm potted Japanese Quince plant has an average growth rate but can reach up to about 1.5m high in good conditions.

It is best to plant your Chaenomeles x superba ‰ۡÌÝÌáPink Lady‰ۡó» in a sheltered, sunny, or partially shaded position, and in chalk, clay, loam, or sand-based soils (which must also be moist and well-draining).

As it is pot grown, you can easily leave the plant in its pot for a few days/weeks before planting it. Just ensure you keep the plant well-watered, and it gets enough sun. Don't leave it for too long, however, as you don't want the roots becoming root bound.

Once it has flowered, prune the sides shoots down to 5/6 leaves, and remove any ill-placed or crossing stems. After the plant has fully established, you can remove any excess growth in the late Spring or Summer, as well as cutting down the sides shoots to 2/3 leaves, instead.
