The Euonymus Jean Hugues is the ideal hedging for traditional gardens, as well as creating borders on pathways. This is due to the fact it is a very easy plant and to keep trimmed and neat, and the foliage will remain a stunning dark-green year-round. Even better, the Euonymus Jean Hugues is a great alternative to the Box as it does not have the risk of getting Box blight.

It is a low growing shrub, with a particularly hardy nature, and is sprinkled with fragrant flowers that come through in June/July. You really will be treated with lovely colours all year.

We do recommend you plant your Jean Hugues in a nice, sunny spot, to get the best out of the luscious colours, however, it can tolerate full shade too.

  • Growth height: Slow (10-20cm per year)
  • Ideal height: 1.2m-1.5m Medium
  • Soil Type: Normal
  • Exposure: Coastal, Exposed, Inland, Sheltered
  • Aspect: Semi-shade, Sun
  • Evergreen foliage? Yes

As it is pot grown, you can easily leave the plant in its pot for a few days/weeks before planting it. Just ensure you keep the plant well-watered, and it gets enough sun. Don't leave it for too long, however, as you don't want the roots becoming root bound.

We do recommend you plant your Jean Hugues in a nice, sunny spot, to get the best out of the luscious colours, however, it can tolerate full shade too.
