Red gooseberries are slightly sweeter than the common green gooseberry, as well as giving a slightly higher yield, but it's just as easy to grow.

The aromatic Red Gooseberry plant boasts gorgeous, dark-red berries with lush, sweet flavours. It is a self-fertile, mildew resistant plant that can produce a decent amount of crops- making it ideal for baking treats!

Gooseberries also attract wildlife like bees, which adds that extra bit of interest to your garden! It will reach an ultimate height and spread of 3m x 4m in good conditions.

Make sure you plant your̴Ì?Red Gooseberry plant in full sun, and in well-draining, slightly acidic soil- it will tolerate pretty much any soil type, elsewise. Ensure you also water very well during dry periods and apply some Rootgrow each Spring. Your plants must be placed 1.5m apart.
