- Pruning & Care
Knaphill 'Daviesii' is a deciduous Azalea bush, which is easy to grow, with a medium sized, open habit. The tubular shaped flowers are gorgeously coloured in shades of pastel yellow, white, and orange, giving them a slender, elegant look.
It's the perfect plant for any borders, beds, or containers, and will look fantastic in both informal and formal gardens, equally. It will reach an ultimate height and spread of 1.5m x 1.5m within 10-20 years.
We recommend planting your Azalea Knaphill 'Daviesii' in full sun or partial shade, and in well-draining but moist soil.
- Growth rate: Slow (10-20cm per year)
- Ideal height: 1.5m Medium
- Soil type: Clay, loam, sand
- Exposure: Sheltered
- Aspect: Full sun, semi-shade
- Evergreen foliage? No
You can clip your Azalea Knaphill 'Daviesii' to shape in early June, but if doing so, do not apply any fertiliser afterwards (as we do recommend with normal pruning), as this will boost growth and therefore spoil the desired shape you're trying to achieve.̴Ì?
General pruning, like trimming away dead/diseased/damaged branches, and removing spent flowers, should be done immediately after flowering has finished- following with some mulch and feed.
